Reduce air pollution by turning off appliances that are not in use or by recycling paper, plastic, glass bottles, cardboard, and aluminum cans. See the table below for more ways to reduce air pollution in your home or car, and when buying products.
Reduce water pollution by volunteering to clean up pollution in local rivers, lakes, or oceans; refer to the table below to find specific ways to help reduce water pollution. You can also save water by taking showers instead of baths and by reducing your shower time, by buying products with the EPA's WaterSense Partnership Program label, by turning off the faucet while brushing teeth or washing dishes...the list goes on. It is important to become conscious of your water usage so you may reduce it in every aspect of your life.
Save wildlife across the world by joining organizations that promote wildlife conservation, such as the World Wildlife Fund. You can save local animals as well by supporting the Humane Society in your city or by lobbying for the protection of local wildlife refuges.
You can also show support for organizations that initiate projects to combat air, water, and habitat pollution such as the Environmental Defense Fund, or the National Resource Defense Council. Donate to fund projects or sign pledges lobbying for legislation that will limit pollution or protect areas of interest.
